Head of Risk / Head of Enterprise Risk: 12 Months Contract, Inside IR35 flexible daily rate


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Interim Head of Risk to lead and enhance the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program for a globally recognized organization.


This pivotal role is ideal for a senior Enterprise risk professional who thrives in dynamic environments and excels at aligning risk frameworks with strategic objectives.


As the Head of Risk, you will be the organization’s sole enterprise risk professional, providing leadership and best practices to help the business meet its risk and compliance obligations. A key part of this role involves presenting to high-level stakeholders, including the Board, International Board, and audiences across all levels.


This role requires a pragmatic, solutions-focused individual who can deliver tailored risk management strategies, ensuring operational resilience and alignment with long-term goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the organization’s ERM program.
  • Review and define risk appetite statements and tolerances with senior leaders.
  • Establish key risk metrics and early warning indicators for management and the Board.
  • Provide high-level oversight of the enterprise risk portfolio and advise on exposure and mitigation strategies.
  • Drive Operational Risk Management (ORM) maturity and best practices.
  • Liaise with executives to ensure cohesive risk governance and ownership.


Candidate Profile

We are seeking a skilled risk professional with:

  • Consultancy Experience: Prior experience working in a consultancy environment is essential, ideally with a recognized household name in the industry.
  • Board Management Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with boards, prepare high-quality presentations, and influence decision-making at this level.
  • Mindset: Flexible and pragmatic, avoiding "textbook" approaches in favour of bespoke solutions.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of ERM and ORM principles, with the ability to influence at Board level.
  • Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of presenting effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptability: The ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.



Extensive experience in Operational and Enterprise Risk is essential for this role, enabling the successful candidate to navigate complex challenges, influence key stakeholders, and implement robust risk management strategies that align with organizational goals.
