We are currently seeking a part-time Governance Manager and Company Secretary to support the effective governance of our Board, including assisting the Chair and the Board in fulfilling their legal and regulatory obligations and promoting best governance practices. This role will also involve coordinating administrative, logistical, and practical support to the Board, including organizing online and occasional in-person Board meetings. Additionally, the role will oversee the regulatory and registration requirements for our overseas offices.

Based in Teddington, this role reports to our Chair of the Board and Head of Legal, working within the Finance and IT Group. The Governance Manager will provide high-level support and advice to the Board, Chair, CEO, and Board Committees, ensuring that Trustees understand their roles and are appropriately recruited, inducted, and supported to fulfill their responsibilities. The role will also handle all necessary reporting and filing requirements for Companies House and the Charity Commission in their capacity as Company Secretary.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and ideally possess a UK legal qualification
  • Be self-motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented
  • Have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Be flexible and have strong digital literacy, with advanced skills in both Google Suite and Microsoft applications

Hybrid working: This role is eligible for hybrid working, with arrangements for working from the Teddington Tearfund office and from home to be agreed upon with the line manager.

Contract: This is a part-time (21 hours per week) contract. The full-time salary is £49,127 per annum, and the part-time salary is £29,476 per annum. The successful candidate may need to travel to different locations across the UK to facilitate festivals and events as required.
