Are you a Project Planner/Planning Engineering professional experienced in P6, and based in the North West of England? Are you seeking a new opportunity which will see you work across major design, build and infrastructure programmes. If so, I am keen to hear from you


My client, a leading multinational defence company, are currently seeking several "Senior Planning Engineers" to join their established Submarine Business in a permanent capacity, based at their secure site in Cumbria. Don't worry if you don't live locally, as the business are only looking for applicants to travel to site, approx. 2-3 days per fortnight.


Please note - It is essential that applicants can obtain Government SC Clearance prior to starting. Some project also hold a UK EYES ONLY classification level, therefore, candidate must hold a sole British Nationality (No dual or Tri nationalities).


Day to Day Responsibilities


  • Developing and implementing appropriately tailored Planning practices
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure good quality baseline and current plans are in place and maintained with buy in from key stakeholders
  • Interfacing and reporting of the whole programme status internally
  • Development of submarine build and test plans
  • Driving quality improvements into the build and test phase schedules
  • Coaching members of the team, monitoring their quality of work and contributing to performance management


Essential Skills & Experience


  • Experience using Primavera P6, to a intermediate level.
  • Experience in Planning in major Project(s)
  • Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Interfacing and reporting
  • Adaptable to Change, Forward thinking
