Vendor Manager (Technology) – INTERIM CONTRACT – Central London (2-3 days) - £425-£475 per day (OUTSIDE IR35)
This global business is undergoing a huge transformation within Technology Procurement, centralizing the function and developing category strategies across the Technology Function. This opportunity will see you working in partnership with the Head of IT Procurement and Vendor Management to tackle critical IT projects. The IT projects are focussing on IT Infrastructure and IT Security.
The IT Vendor Manager will be responsible for conducting RFP processes for new products and services. Collaborating with the current product and service vendors to assess and enhance their performance and onboarding new vendors, managing both contract negotiations and knowledge transfer. This role requires a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work under contract terms.
Role Overview; Vendor Manager (Technology):
- Manage the RFP process for technology outsourcing projects, ensuring clarity, compliance, and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, acting as the primary point of contact throughout the RFP process.
- Evaluate vendor proposals critically and negotiate terms to secure the best value for the company.
- Coordinate with legal, finance, and technology departments to ensure contracts meet all necessary requirements and standards.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and addressing any issues that arise.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of the RFP process and any risks or opportunities identified.
- Work with vendors to track and assess performance against SLA’s and KPI’s.
- Ensure effective governance and provide vendor coaching as needed.
- Ensure a smooth transition from the RFP phase to project initiation, setting up the project for success
Key Skills and Vendor Management Experience required:
- Proven experience in vendor management and project management, preferably in the technology sector.
- Strong understanding of the RFP process and experience managing large-scale outsourcing contracts.
- Experience within IT Infrastructure (service desk, networking, end user computing, desktop provider)
- IT Security knowledge
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Familiarity with contract law and experience working with legal and financial documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, IT, or a related field.
