Sustainability Product Manager


Role overview

Citation helps SMB’s build better businesses with a broad range of compliance products. We are looking to expand our offerings in the field of sustainability and the environment to help our customers operate in a way that will embrace upcoming legislation.

Sustainability solutions are often complex and aimed at enterprise businesses, making it difficult for SMB’s to know what they could do and if they are doing the right things – and so , we want to do what we do best, make the complex simple in this area and want a Sustainability Product Lead to own and deliver new products.

Combining strong product management skills, with knowledge and passion around environmental and sustainability issues, you’ll have the ability to think about the needs of small businesses. You’ll play a critical role in leading the development and implementation of innovative sustainability products. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify market opportunities, develop product strategies, and oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch. Leveraging product management expertise and environmental knowledge to meet their needs. You’ll have strong commercial acumen to ensure the successful creation and market adoption of sustainable products.

This is a brand-new role, offering you the opportunity to shape and drive sustainability initiatives within a dynamic and growing organization. You will collaborate closely with executive and senior leadership teams to build a robust sustainability roadmap aligned with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Analysis:
  • comprehensive market research to identify emerging sustainability trends, SMB client preferences, and competitive landscape.


  • Acumen
  • market data to identify opportunities for new sustainability products and assess their commercial viability.
  • commercial expertise to assess the financial viability of sustainability products, including cost analysis, pricing strategies, and revenue projections.
  • the company at events and forums, showcasing progress to stakeholders and peers.



  • Strategy Development and Delivery:
  • and implement a comprehensive sustainability roadmap tailored to the needs and priorities of the business.
  • cross-functional teams in the development of new sustainability products from concept through to launch.
  • product requirements, features, and specifications based on market insights and customer feedback.


  • Engagement:
  • the visibility of sustainability initiatives internally and externally.
  • strong relationships with executive and senior leadership teams to ensure alignment and support for sustainability initiatives.
  • with internal teams, including R&D, marketing and sales, to ensure timely and successful launch to market.


  • the sustainability expert
  • tools and frameworks to effectively monitor and manage the global sustainability legislation landscape, to stay ahead in the market and decipher for the SMB client base.
  • the terminology for the SMB market and continue to drive innovation to support our clients in their ESG and decarbonization efforts.
  • strategic guidance and leadership in sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with global trends and regulations.


  • Success Metrics:
  • key success metrics to demonstrate the success of newly implemented Sustainability products, ensuring they are regularly communicated.


Skills and Qualifications:

Degree in business, sustainability, environmental science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Proven experience (min 5 years) in product management, with a focus on sustainability or related fields.
