Who we are

We are a leading and trusted organisation, dedicated to promoting energy efficiency, low carbon transport and sustainable energy use. We aim to address the climate emergency and deliver the wider benefits of clean energy as we transition to net zero.

We don’t just offer jobs – we offer careers. For our people, being part of the effort to address the climate emergency makes working for us truly meaningful and rewarding.

Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • We offer an outstanding pension scheme including employer contributions of up to 9%, 11% or 13% (age-linked).
  • Enhanced parental leave.
  • Private BUPA insurance.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with service-linked increases as well as three goodwill days over the Christmas period.
  • Staff wellbeing allowance of up to £25 per month / £300 per year.

The team

This is an exciting opportunity to join our insight & evaluation team. Our team is integral to the data, research and content we produce.

The work we do is hugely varied, from calculating the savings that can be achieved through making energy efficiency changes, modelling the impact of new technologies, providing content for energy efficiency training, researching consumers attitudes towards government policy and assessing the impact that programmes deliver.

Whilst sitting in the insight and evaluation team, this role works with the energy access team within the international team. You’ll be part of a team working to make a positive impact on the lives of people and businesses in the Global South, primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. You’ll support the delivery of our multi-annual and multi-million-pound initiatives funded by UK Aid (through the Transforming Energy Access (TEA) programme) and IKEA Foundation and jointly managed with our partner:

  • The Low Energy Inclusive Appliances Programme is a research and innovation programme that seeks to improve the efficiency, performance, availability and affordability of a range of household, community and productive use solar appliances and technologies. It’s the flagship initiative of…
  • The Efficiency for Access Coalition, a global coalition working to accelerating the uptake of off and weak-grid appliances to boost incomes, reduce carbon emissions, improve quality of life, and support sustainable development.

The role

Are you a dynamic and motivated monitoring, evaluation and learning analyst with a passion for working in international development?

The monitoring, evaluation and learning analyst is a pivotal role in the team with a mission to collect and analyse data in order to gain insights that can be translated into learnings for our organisation, our partners, and our funders.

You’ll ensure evidence and impacts are reported in an accurate timely manner to project implementers and funders. You will support the development and delivery of monitoring and evaluation outputs, as well as other data analysis and research outputs across several distinct workstreams.

What you’ll do

You’ll be responsible for our data tracking tools for both quantitative and qualitative data analysis to measure progress against output and intermediate outcomes.

You’ll work together with the energy access team on project and programme reporting and reviews to internal and external stakeholders, and review and refine project theoretical frameworks through critical thinking and considering all elements of a theory of change.

You’ll support the implementation of project M&E frameworks, through data analysis of workstream activities and collecting and building an evidence base to ensure the programme is on track for successful delivery.

What you’ll bring:

  • We’re looking for someone who is values-driven and wants to work for a cause that they believe in.
  • You’ll have a track record of analysing and evaluating data using online tools such as NVivo and Power-bi and offline tools such as excel workbooks, and an excellent understanding of M&E methodologies and approaches.
  • You’ll have experience in developing data methodologies and data formulas for contribution and attribution analysis.
  • You’ll be naturally self-motivated, with a willingness to learn and the ability to work in complex, multi-disciplinary teams, in partnership with others, ideally with experience of working on large-scale multi-partner international projects.
  • You’ll demonstrate strong analytical and numerical skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills; with experience of report writing and presenting for an external audience.

Applications close 23.59, 1 September 2024. Interviews are intended to be held week commencing 9 September 2024.
