Business Development Manager – eCommerce Events

Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days in-office/week)

Retail Summits specializes in creating high-impact, invite-only events that bring together leaders across the eCommerce and digital retail space. Our mission is to connect the most innovative minds in retail technology, logistics, digital marketing, and omnichannel strategy through exclusive in-person experiences.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our UK team. In this role, you will be responsible for growing sponsorship revenue by identifying, pitching, and securing partnerships with top-tier eCommerce solution providers and digital retail brands across the UK and Europe.

About the Role:

This is a consultative sales role best suited for someone who enjoys building lasting client relationships, understands the eCommerce landscape, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You will play a key role in shaping our events by aligning top eCommerce partners with relevant audience segments and strategic themes.

  • Hybrid role, two days in office per week.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
  • Travel is required time to time for live events. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and target eCommerce vendors, digital agencies, tech platforms, payment providers, logistics firms, and other solution providers that align with our summit audience.
  • Client Engagement: Initiate and manage outbound outreach campaigns to senior decision-makers via email, LinkedIn, and phone.
  • Consultative Selling: Understand client goals and challenges to craft tailored sponsorship opportunities that deliver ROI.
  • Revenue Growth: Consistently meet and exceed sales targets by securing high-value sponsorship deals.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to create custom event packages and compelling presentations.
  • Relationship Management: Develop long-term relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Market Insight: Stay up-to-date on eCommerce trends, competitor activity, and retail innovations to inform sales strategy.

What We're Looking For:

  • 2+ years in a business development, sponsorship sales, or partnership role.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with a consultative sales approach.
  • A self-starter with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Passion for eCommerce, retail tech, and innovation is a strong plus.

Compensation:

  • OTE ranging from £50,000-£70,000.
