Are you a skilled Technical Author with expertise in the Energy industry? Our client, a leading company in the Energy sector, is seeking a talented Technical Author to join their team on a temporary basis for a period of 6 months. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your technical writing skills and contribute to the success of a well-established organisation.

As a Technical Author, you will be responsible for creating and editing technical documentation to support the Energy team's projects and initiatives. You will work closely with subject matter experts, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and produce accurate and user-friendly technical content. Your excellent writing and communication skills will be crucial in ensuring that complex technical information is presented in a clear and concise manner.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, review, and update technical documentation, including user manuals, training guides, procedures, and other supporting materials.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and validate technical content.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to company standards and guidelines.
  • Edit and proofread technical documentation for accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
  • Conduct research and gather information from various sources to support content development.
  • Manage documentation repositories and ensure version control and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input and incorporate feedback.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practises in technical writing.
  • Participate in meetings and workshops to contribute ideas and insights.



Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Author, preferably in the Energy industry.
  • Proficient in writing and editing technical content.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to explain them in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in using relevant tools and software for technical documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.



This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in the Energy industry and make a significant impact on our client's projects. The successful candidate will receive a daily rate of £400 for the duration of the 6-month contract.
