At Camfil we are seeking a commercially focused and experienced Managing Director to lead our organization in the UK. This role provides a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic company and work with our talented UK management team, being accountable for all business areas including manufacturing operations.


The role is based in our Haslingden site in the UK and reports into the President EMEA.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of 250 professionals, driving market growth, and expanding our business presence in the region. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the local market, the ability to foster strong relationships with customers, and a proven track record in sales management as well a thorough understanding of other business areas, including manufacturing operations, preferably.

Role Priorities:


Leadership and Team Management:


  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team, ensuring high levels of motivation, performance, and alignment with company goals as well as encouraging professional development.
  • Set clear performance targets and regularly evaluate team performance against these metrics.


Market Understanding and Business Development:


  • Analyze the local market landscape, identifying trends and opportunities, monitor competitive activity and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and market penetration.


Customer Relationship Management:


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. Act as the primary point of contact for major clients.
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure that customer interactions are consistent with the company's values and objectives.


Sales Strategy and Execution:


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with overall company goals and drives revenue growth.
  • Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring that targets are met or exceeded and continuously optimize the sales process to deliver value to customers.


Operational Management:


  • Oversee all operational aspects of the business, including production, supply chain, quality control, and customer service, to ensure efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure KPI´s, quality and health and safety standards in production are met.


Financial Management:


  • Manage the country’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve maximum return on investment.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and other relevant metrics to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies within the country.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or equivalent would be a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales management and preferably manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong business acumen, broad understanding of all areas of management (Sales, Operations, Finance, etc.)
  • Related industry experience would be a preference. Strong understanding of the local market and experience in business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large team across a diverse geography. Proven track record in managing and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Excellent leadership, team management and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Fluency in English


Travel: The role involves travel, both domestically and internationally.
