Job Summary: Ultima App Support is seeking a highly skilled Application Support Engineer to join our remote team. In this role, you will provide expert troubleshooting and support for applications, manage Azure environments, and contribute to the stability and efficiency of our clients' IT systems. Your ability to resolve technical issues, work collaboratively, and contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives will be essential for success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Support:
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and resolution for application-related issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve incidents.
  • Handle BAU incident and change tickets effectively, adhering to SLAs.
  • Infrastructure and Platform Management:
  • Manage and maintain Azure IaaS and PaaS environments.
  • Administer applications running on Windows servers.
  • Database Management:
  • Oversee and manage Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Optimize performance and ensure database security and reliability.
  • Scripting and Automation:
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell or similar tools to streamline processes and enhance system efficiency.
  • Monitoring and Alerting:
  • React to alerts promptly, ensuring swift resolution of issues.
  • Troubleshoot alert triggers to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Utilize ELK or similar monitoring and alerting tools to ensure system health and uptime (preferred).
  • Specialized Application Support (Preferred):
  • Provide support for niche applications such as 3e or Intapp Open, if applicable.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with the application support team on smaller projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to process improvement and documentation efforts.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent application troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven experience managing Azure IaaS and PaaS environments.
  • Hands-on experience with managing applications on Windows servers.
  • Strong proficiency in managing Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Advanced scripting skills, particularly with PowerShell or similar scripting languages.


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with ELK or similar monitoring/alerting tools.
  • Familiarity with supporting 3e or Intapp Open applications (desirable but not required).


Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in an application support team handling BAU incident and change tickets.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to smaller projects and initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
