Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner Learning Disability to join a highly experienced multi-professional health care team working in the Cornwall Adult Community Team - East.
The post-holder will be based within the Learning Disability Team in Bodmin.
The clinical work is multi-disciplinary involving assessment, formulation and provision of therapeutic interventions, including positive behavioural approaches as part of the multi-disciplinary care planning and delivery.
We are actively engaged in the development of the service we provide with our community clients and your thoughts, ideas would be welcomed.
Would consider a developmental post starting at Band 4, working towards Band 5.

Main duties of the job
To provide clinical input to people living in the community in Cornwall who are on the adult caseload within a positive behaviour support (PBS) framework, the main aim of which will be to enhance the quality of life of the service users and reduce challenging behaviour. To provide other assessments and interventions as required under the supervision of the Team Lead or Clinical supervisor.

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
Essential
NVQ Level 3 (Care) Previous experience in Positive Behaviour Support. Previous experience of working with people with a learning disability with complex needs, some of whom exhibit behaviour that challenges, in a variety of settings.
Desirable
Experience in a variety of settings. Experience working with people with complex behavioural and/or mental health needs
Skills and Aptitude
Essential
Excellent communication and record keeping skills. Ability to recognise and report with accuracy the people with a learning disability needs and/or environment. Able to support people who have varying degrees of physical/learning disabilities/personal care needs/behaviours that challenge.-
