Role Purpose:

To support and empower English Online teachers to provide quality online teaching. To provide first level pedagogic support to a cohort of online teachers. To support the Teaching Operations Lead & Academic Excellence Lead with academic management. To test, monitor and evaluate all new product developments that relate to the online classroom.

Context:

The English Online business runs three teaching products that form part of the adult portfolio of online products. is a premium teaching product aimed at adults learning English at any level. is a premium economy teaching product with a greater emphasis on asynchronous learning. is a fully customisable course that prepares students for IELTS through group and private classes. is a self-access course which offers social and work themes as well as Live25 language webinars to students.

These products provide a premium online experience supported by highly trained and effective teachers, demonstrating clear learning outcomes and fostering a global community and support network of learners and teachers.

Main Accountabilities:

The main focus is supporting and managing teachers to delivering quality online teaching and effective learning of English.

This includes:

Supporting the Teaching Operations Lead in recruitment and selection of online teachers Onboarding new teachers and conducting teacher needs analyses Delivering ongoing product orientation and training to teachers Regular observation of classes, monitoring teaching quality and student experience  Leading a large cohort of teachers and motivating them to be brand ambassadors Acting as a role model for good classroom practice by encouraging teachers to observe you teaching and doing demonstration lessons  Routinely monitoring developments in online teaching pedagogy and practice and bringing these to the attention of teachers through presentations and practical sessions Dealing with last-minute scheduling changes, unplanned absences and other logistical elements Implementing procedures and practices to aid teacher retention Contributing to the evaluation and improvement of the classroom experience to meet students’ needs, by actively working as a member of the English Online Teaching Delivery team Working closely with the Sales and Customer Service team to deal with academic enquiries or complaints, ensuring teachers are fully briefed and consulted where appropriate

Additional job details:

This is a full-time post.

The post holder will work 100% online.

The post holder will work a fixed working week. You must be available to work one of the following shifts (please specify your preference in your supporting statement):

Sundays-Thursdays 05:00-13:00 UK time (including lunch break). Mondays-Fridays 00:00-08:00  UK  time (including lunch break).

The post holder will not have a regular teaching timetable but will be required to substitute at short notice.

You must be based in either the UK, Australia or India at the time of applying and have the right to work in the country in which you reside. We do not provide relocation or visa support.

About You

Essential requirements for the role:

Undergraduate degree TEFL-Q qualification (Diploma-level EFL/TESOL), or equivalent as recognised by the British Council. 2 years post-diploma i.e. DELTA/Trinity Diploma TESOL teaching experience Extensive knowledge and experience in online teacher training Experience managing EFL teachers remotely Experience working with hourly-paid teachers and/or non-permanent workers Experience teaching adults General and Business English and IELTS preparation (800+ hours)

Desirable requirements:

Relevant IH Certificate / Diploma in ELT Management, or similar. Relevant Masters Experience in accessibility of online teaching products Experience working online with students with AEN  Experience delivering presentations/webinars for ELT conferences
