Who We Are
The Dell Care Home near Lowestoft opened in 1996 and has seen various improvements to make it into the 40-bedroom home you see today. Meadow View near Wellingborough started out as a private Victorian house but was repurposed as a nursing home, established in 1986 and has been heavily extended in three areas into a 53-bedroom home. All our homes are in idyllic locations, set in the heart of wonderful communities with amenities close by.

To provide the highest possible standard of care for each resident at all times. A standard of residential nursing care that is second to none in Northamptonshire. We want to create a relaxed, happy atmosphere, welcoming to all who enter our homes. We provide dignified and respectful care to all with full support from everyone.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the line manager for the service
- Liaise with the provider, ensuring all necessary reports are sent timeously

- Oversee the implementation of the service’s policies and procedures

Responsibilities and Duties of the Job
Role-Specific Duties
The Registered Manager’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- To provide leadership to the administration, care and nursing, catering, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and people management functions of the service
- To carry out, and provide leadership in marketing the service, and selling its services at the agreed prices
- To maintain the operations of the service at the standard agreed with the Registered Provider, within the financial budget or other parameters set by the Provider
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals supported by the service
Working with Others
- Recruitment of staff
- Induct new starters in accordance with company policy
- Lead, motivate and direct staff
- Conduct staff supervision and annual staff appraisals for all heads of department
- Develop staff to their full potential, ensuring succession planning for the service
- Ensure multidisciplinary team working is embedded in the service
Other Duties
Other duties and responsibilities to be undertaken may include any (or all) of the items in the following list:

Essential Requirements for our Registered Manager
- Managerial experience.
- Level 4/5 or working towards Level 5
- Knowledge of Dementia care
- Good knowledge of legislation
- Leads by example
- Good IT skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Has the ability to run a 40 bedded service
- Has the ability to support a staff team of 60
- Has some experience with Atlas and Person-Centred or similar
Specific Requirements for Qualifications
- Good English written and verbal
- 1st Level Nursing Qualification
- Qualifications in Management, e.g.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (part of the QCF system)
- Registered Managers Award (RMA)
- Vocational qualification Level 4 in Leadership and Management for Care Services
- Vocational qualification Level 4 in Health and Social Care
Specific Requirement for Skills
Proficient Written Skills
- Ensure accurate and legible records are kept
- Ensure compliance with both statutory and the service’s requirements for all reportable areas within the service provision
Budgetary Skills
- Measure weekly expenditures to ensure the budget is maintained
- Ensure all equipment is purchased within budgetary constraints
- Understand how to read and produce the Provider’s budget plans
Communication Skills
- Regularly seek feedback from all stakeholders and plan changes according to the feedback
- Plan and attend regular meetings with all stakeholders to keep abreast of views and expectations
- Knowledge of various communicative methods to reach all stakeholders
Specific Requirement for Previous Experience
- Previous experience working in a similar environment
- Knowledge of leading a team and working within a multidisciplinary team
- Previous experience working as a service manager
- Experience working with service users who have additional support needs
