Job summary
We are looking to appoint a number of enthusiastic individuals to join our established team of on-call crisis workers at SAFE Place, our Merseyside Sexual Assault Referral Centre site in Liverpool.
The post holder will provide crisis management for patients that attend the Centre for a forensic medical examination outside of normal office hour
Main duties of the job
This is a zero hours contract offering on-call services 24 hours a day across a variety of shifts. £ per on call shift and £ per hour call outand telephone calls.
The out of hours crisis workers will work on a rota basis between the hours of:7pm and 8am Monday-Friday on call from home. 8am-4pm, 4pm - Midnight on Saturday, Sunday, and Public Holidays on call from home. You may additionally be asked to cover some Annual leave for daytime crisis workers. The post holder would be expected to work a minimum of 4 on call shifts per month
The post holder will provide telephone support and information and crisis management to clients attending for a forensic medical examination.
The successful applicants will receive full training to enable them to provide crisis support to adults and young people attending for forensic examination/medical assessment and out of hours telephone support and information.
You will have some previous experience of working with people in a supportive role. You will have some understanding of safeguarding and possess a calming influence in stressful crisis situations. You must be highly organised, self motivated and able to work effectively on your own initiative as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. You must be able to attend the SAFE Place Merseyside within 30-60 minutes of a call out, be able to drive and have a clean driving license.

Essential
Understand the impact rape and sexual assault can have on victims. Previous recent experience of directly working with people in a supportive/advocacy role. Understand the nature of SARC and issues in relation to victims of rape or sexual assault. Possess an understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
Desirable
Previous experience of telephone support work such as Samaritans. Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting. Previous experience of working with people in traumatic or crisis situations.
Skills
Essential
Have good listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Be able to work out of hours, evenings, weekends, Public holidays.
