Inthis role you will

Support ourProduct team and meet our clients requirements by sourcing thehotels requested for our group bookings. You will take charge ofnegotiating the best possible rates and conditions building yourknowledge of the industry and your contacts within it. Additionallyyou will monitor our portfolio of hotels note any gaps in ourinventory and will take steps to fill those gaps by purchasingrooms in relevant hotels. Similarly you will be responsible forreleasing any unsold product back into the market in a timelyfashion.


Keyresponsibilities

  • Tomanage group booking requests and to ensure that the right hotelproduct has been offered at the best possible rates.
  • To understand the needs of the clients and themarkets in which the company is operating.
  • Tosend options confirmations amendments and cancellations tosuppliers and follow up where necessary ensuring paperworkaccurately reflects requirements.
  • To ensuremaximum usage of allocation where relevant.
  • Towork with your Line Manager to create manage and distribute bookingupdates/reports to active hoteliers in Scotland.
  • To take a proactive reaction to issues/errorssuch as book outs and present to your Line Manager a solution forconsideration.
  • Attending familiarisation tripsnetworking events trade shows and supplier meetings in order torepresent the company enhance existing supplier relationships andcreate new ones.
  • To arrange visits tolocations and other key hotels as required ensuring that all staffare aware of the product that we offer. Working with the RegionalContracts Manager to manage and maintain the key eventscalendar.

  • Strongnegotiation skills.
  • A solid working knowledgeof Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Highlyaccurate with an excellent attention todetail.
  • Welldeveloped written and verbalcommunication skills.
  • Professional approach towork.
  • Full clean drivinglicense.
  • Able to travel at shortnotice.
  • Previous contracting experience ideallywithin a tourism/tour operatorbackground.
  • Strong team player but comfortableworking on own initiative.
  • Approachable andpositive individual with a can doattitude.
  • Knowledge of the inbound tourismindustry.
  • Key contacts within the UK tourismindustry / hotelier.
  • Experience working withinthe travel industry.
  • Fluency in an additionalEuropean language would bedesirable.
