When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT and Telecommunications Lead to join our team at the Sizewell C project. The primary objective of this role is to manage and coordinate all IT&T (Information Technology & Telecommunications) aspects related to the project, ensuring capacity assurance, governance, and stakeholder support. 

The IT&T Lead will be responsible for the stakeholder management with Electrical stakeholders such as BT, Vodafone and others. Lead and oversee the design and deployment of an integrated radio and telecommunications system for the project site, consisting of Emergency services communications (airwave/ESN), VHF/UHF construction radio, cellular network voice/data and outdoor Wi-Fi network. 


This entails the delivery of the temporary IT&T & radio mast; Openreach connection and network interface; permanent IT&T masts; permanent IT&T fibre network and associated infrastructure; permanent IT&T interface buildings and coordination with ERP.

The IT&T Lead plays a vital role in resolving technical radio and telecommunication issues, risk mitigation, change management, and maintaining high standards of compliance, contributing significantly to the Sizewell C project's smooth progression, success, and efficiency.

The role is pivotal in ensuring that all the works relating to telecoms and radio to adhere to client specifications, project timelines, and budgets. 


The Role

You’ll be the primary point of contact responsible for:


Lead the resolution of IT&T challenges, including the digital architecture aligns with the project’s objectives and industry best practices. 

Lead IT&T capacity assurance, governance and stakeholder assistance.


Management of the budget for IT&T utility works, ensure effective monitoring of costs for IT&T works and identify and manage risks related to IT&T utility works.

Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders and other teams.


Manage interdependencies between IT&T infrastructure development and other site construction phases and assess and address the impact of IT&T works on overall project timelines and deliverables.


Ensure client satisfaction regarding delivery time, cost, and quality, complementing the responsibilities of the Utilities Service Manager.


Ensure all utility-related activities adhere to the CDM Regulations (CDM), emphasising the integration of sustainable practices throughout the project's lifecycle.


Responsible for effective coordination with Utilities Construction teams, including Design, Temporary Works, and Consents Managers, to ensure compliance with DCO and best practices.

The skills:


Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to guide multidisciplinary teams.


Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.


Proficiency in project management software and tools, with a solid understanding of project planning, execution, and monitoring.


Demonstrate ability in risk management and problem-solving.

Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project or Construction Management, or a related field.


Extensive experience in utilities coordination or management on large construction projects, with a track record of successful project delivery.


Strong experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable:


Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills.


Knowledge of environmental management and sustainability practices.


Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
