Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to the role of Flow Coordinator, within the Accident and Emergency Team. The post holder will be required to work at both Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital.

The role is to support flow within the department, fielding calls, updating IT systems with the status of the patient, requesting beds for patients to be admitted, as well as closely monitoring our 4 hour breach targets. This is an important role within the multidisciplinary team liaising with clinical colleagues to help to provide excellent patient care.

Previous experience in an acute setting would be beneficial however, full training will be provided. You will be working within our majors department liaising with a range of staff at all levels so communication is key

You must be confident using various IT systems and have the ability to organise your day and workload. You must be able to work well under pressure as this is a fast pace environment.

Main duties of the job

You will work along side the senior nursing team to ensure that the patient journey is safe and effective through the Emergency Department.

You must:

Have excellent communication skills Be IT literate Willing and keen to learn new skills Be able to work well under pressure, with the ability to prioritise your own work load independently Be approachable and open to an ever changing work environment Have the ability to manage an ever-changing fast paced workload in a busy environment Have a positive can do attitude
