Baggage Handler
Location: Gatwick AirportPay rate: £11.77 per hour
Shift pattern: 4 on 4 offShift: Days or Nights, 12 hour shiftsDay shifts starting times: 4am, 5am or 6amNight Shift starting times: 6pm or 7pm

Job Description:
  • Physically loading and unloading cargo, mail and baggage into aircraft.
  • Segregation and build up of baggage according to destination, into containers in preparation for departure.
  • Assist with the turnaround of aircraft, working with various departments to ensure delays are avoided.
  • Ensure security protocols of the company and airlines are maintained.
  • Ensure safety processes are followed in all aspects of the job.
  • Report any discrepancies noted while performing assigned tasks.
  • Working as part of a team during the aircraft turnaround with tight deadlines.

Person Specifications required:
  • Candidates must be able to provide 5 years checkable work/educational history for referencing purposes and criminal record check
  • Must hold a UK manual driving license
  • Must be able to provide photo ID & eligibility to work in the UK (UK Passport OR EU Passport & Share Code OR Non-EU Passport & Visa/Biometric Card) UK Citizens only: UK Driving Licence & UK Full Birth Certificate)
  • Must be able to provide 5year UK address history
  • Must be willing to have a Criminal Record Check 
  • Must be able to provide proof of National Insurance No & Proof of address dated within the last 3mths
  • Fluent written and spoken English required, fluency in another language would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Candidates of all levels of experience are welcome to apply. We would be particularly interested if you have previous airport operational experience
