Job summary

Northampton General are looking for a band 5 Cardiac Physiologist to join our expanding Cardiac Physiology team.

We are looking to fill this position with a BSc qualified (or equivalent) Cardiac Physiologist who will work alongside the Cardiology team to maintain our high standards of patient care.

We are a dynamic and inter-professional Cardiology team delivering a wide range of services to the local community. Our philosophy is to strive to deliver excellent patient focused care in line with NICE guidelines, National Service Frameworks and evidence based practice.

We perform a wide range of cardiac procedures including permanent pacemaker implantations, implantable cardioverter defibrillator implantations (transvenous and subcutaneous), leadless pacemaker insertion, Physiologist-led ILR implantation service, cardiac resynchronisation therapy, purcutaneous coronary intervention, trans-oesophageal echo, stress echo, myocardial perfusion scintigraphy and cardioversion. We have a chronic total occlusion programme and utilise IVUS, OCT and rotablation.

This clinical post is suitable for an enthusiastic team player who can work in partnership with the existing teams to provide and coordinate expert care within Northampton General.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work across the Cardiac Physiology department supporting both invasive and non-invasive areas.

The post holder will perform the following procedures within the non-invasive service; 12 Lead ECG, ambulatory ECG/BP analysis, ETT, autonomic function testing, Tilt testing as well as covering cath lab procedures including angiography and PCI.
