As a Risk Associate within the ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) Team you will have the opportunity to help support, drive and embed an effective risk management practice into the first line and developing the maturity across all Service Lines in the firm by delivering proactive, high quality and value-added service as part of a maturing central Risk Function at Mazars.

You will have the opportunity to also support the Policy Standardisation project. This entails helping to develop and embed effective firmwide policy, procedure, and process map across the firm in all Service Lines by delivering proactive, high quality and value-added service as part of a maturing central Risk Function at Mazars.

This internal facing role will principally involve working with the ERM team and the different service lines and different stakeholders across the business in various roles, using appropriate tools and templates to develop and enhance high-quality risk management processes, standards, frameworks, and culture across the organisation.
This will include monitoring and assessment of risk registers, ensuring a standardised and consistent approach is taken across the firm, and the driving force around embedding and maintaining an appropriate risk culture in Mazars.

As an evolving function within Mazars UK, you will also have the opportunity to play a key role to shape, develop and implement methodologies, whilst contributing to the overall Risk strategies and business objectives of the firm.

Role & Responsibilities 

• Manage Risk Emerging and Horizon scanning process
• Monthly risk MI reporting and dashboard collation
• GRC (Group Risk & Compliance) administrator and maintenance of risk registers
• Attend risk review meetings, challenge, and oversight key risk owners 
• Support the development of ERM training materials
• Draft and developed risk framework, policies, and procedures
• Oversight of risk treatment plans/ risk treatment tracker
• Diarise ERM quarterly reviews
• Work in collaboration with other business units to support strategic initiatives
• Support Service Line and Risk Owners 
• Work within the 2LoD to provide support to various stakeholders across the business to ensure functions have the policies, procedures and process maps that meet expected minimum standards i.e. consistent and accurate 
• Demonstrating competence and confidence in using the database and software systems, providing consistent and responsive administrative support to the Policy owners, writers, teams, and wider business when required
• To work collaboratively with the team to ensure the consistent flow of documents and robust adherence to agreed processes
• Performing formatting, grammar, spelling, and punctuation checks on all documents submitted, ensuring consistency of style and content across the business
• Monitoring document review dates and escalating any overdue reviews
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of the control environment
• Demonstrate attention to detail, ensuring quality and accuracy of all policy content published within the firm on directory
• To communicate effectively with the team and external policy/ document owners, contributors ensuring that all administration duties are completed in the required timescale
• Assist to progress the risk maturity journey of Mazars through implementation of policies, frameworks, and procedures

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Experience of, or drive to be, working within Enterprise Risk Management
• Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
• Actively seeks to enhance expertise and knowledge
• A high attention to detail
• Professional qualifications in Risk Management such as IRM certification, or relevant degree in risk management will be provided
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, Ppt, Office suite and Visio
• Proven decision making and problem-solving skills
• Excellent administrative skills 
• Excellent spoken and written English, understanding of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• A capable and experienced proof-reader
• High level of accuracy and possess analytical skills
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Can do attitude and willingness to learn on the job
