Primary Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialised SEMH school in Bournemouth. This school caters for students who are primary aged, predominatly 7-11 year olds.
We are looking for Teaching Assistants to join us from September on a full time basis. This will start as a temporary role through our trusted recruitment partner and will become a permanent position.

Salary: £12.90 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Social, emotional and mental health needs
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to meet the needs of students effectively
- Support our primary pupils to engage positively with education
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable
- You MUST have a visa to work in the UK (we are not able to offer sponsorship)
- Strong understanding of SEMH or SEN and its impact on learning and behavior
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with diverse needs
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
