As our General Manager , you will be providing on site operational leadership and accountability for our Medway depot. Leading your site team of around 110 colleagues, you will thrive from our fast-paced customer operation within our close-knit team.
Leading and overseeing operational activity on behalf of our customer, you will thrive in the commercial, profit, retention, and contractual objectives, ensuring we exceed and most importantly help drive high standards across the site. Site culture and colleague engagement are critical to the success of us adding great value to our customer and colleagues, within our fast pace, versatile environment.
Key responsibilities?
Responsible for ensuring that the ongoing operation consistently exceeds the customer’s requirements both in terms of service, budgeted financial goals, KPIs and operational standards. Ensure that a best-in-class HSE performance is achieved within the site and that a culture of safety in everything we do is embedded. Provide leadership, motivation and career development to the site management team and colleagues, ensuring that they achieve excellence on a day-to-day basis. Responsible for driving high levels of employee engagement and maintaining the sites excellent reputation within the local community. Proactive in seeking out initiatives, continuous improvement to add value to our customer business plan, supply chain strategy and our Wincanton’s contract logistics strategy. Operating in an ‘Open Book’ environment. Deliver a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement by utilising the most appropriate methodology on a consistent basis.What will you bring to our team?
Excellent operational leadership experience within a high value customer operation. Inclusive leadership skills with experience in developing the management team ensuring that they are engaged and motivated to achieve their personal goals and the KPIs of the contract. Strong interpersonal skills to be able to establish effective communication channels with colleagues ensuring that they are well informed about the site and the wider business. Positive stakeholder management and experience of working closely with customers and developing effective working relationships. Budgetary and financial controls experience, with ability to effectively operate with Open Book contracts. Passionate to deliver continuous improvement initiatives. This challenging and exciting role will appeal to an individual with experience, drive, determination, enthusiasm, and a real passion for leading people.
