Teaching Personnel work closely with a secondary school in Portsmouth who are seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring educator with a deep understanding of the humanities, capable of engaging students across a range of subjects including history, geography, religious studies, and social sciences.

This full-time position requires an individual who is not only well-versed in their subject matter but also committed to fostering a learning environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning among students from diverse backgrounds.

 

As a Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that meet the national curriculum standards. Your role will involve planning and preparing lessons that are both informative and engaging, utilising a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

You will be expected to assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to ensure that all students are able to achieve their full potential. This includes setting challenging but achievable goals and adapting teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.

 

In addition to your classroom responsibilities, you will be expected to contribute to the wider school community. This includes participating in extracurricular activities, supporting school events, and collaborating with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive school culture.

As part of commitment to continuous improvement, you will also be encouraged to engage in professional development opportunities, staying current with the latest educational practices and advancements in the field of humanities education.

 

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree and possess qualified teacher status (QTS). Experience teaching humanities subjects at the secondary level is highly desirable, as is a strong track record of student achievement.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as you will be expected to work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to support the academic and personal growth of our students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
