Our client provides a full range of solutions to enable total fleet mobility including contract hire of bespoke commercial vehicles, short term rental and fleet management. It is an exciting time to be in the sector as leading companies, like our client, navigate through the journey of alternative fuels and digital transformation.

Hours: Monday – Friday – Shifts between 07:00 – 17:30

Tasks

Role and Responsibilities:

We are currently recruiting for a Depot Driver to join the team based at the depot in Enfield. The main purpose of the role would be:

  • Collecting and delivering vehicles
  • Cleaning all vehicles and preparing them prior to delivery to clients
  • Completing paperwork, check sheets and rental agreements

This is a varied role in a fast-paced environment where every day is different and tasks are subject to change. There will be potential late finishes in order to get vehicles collected and delivered on time (overtime will be paid).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all vehicles are checked and cleaned to a high standard to present a professional image to customers.
  • Act in a courteous and professional manner whilst maintaining a high level of personal appearance and wearing company uniform at all times.
  • Ensuring all vehicles are SQI checked prior to delivery, reporting any defects in line with the SQI checklist to ensure that all vehicles are legally compliant.
  • To ensure vehicles are collected or delivered in line with the customers and employers’ expectations to ensure high levels of customer service and customer retention.
  • Ensure that all rental vehicles have a signed rental check sheet and rental agreement at collection and delivery.
  • To ensure LRQA and ISO standards are always adhered to contributing to the retention of these schemes.
  • Assisting with internal and external audits and taking specific actions as instructed where non-conformances occur.
  • Complying with all HSE procedures to ensure a safe working environment, reporting all accidents and environmental incidents and taking action as appropriate.
  • Ensuring the yard is free from obstruction and that parking is controlled.
  • Building and developing relationships with customers to ensure high levels of continued and new business.
  • Carry out vehicle familiarisation with customers where necessary.
  • Resolve customer issues at a low-level escalating where necessary.
Requirements

Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 1-year experience driving commercial vehicles
  • Have a minimum of Class 2 licence – Class 1 is preferred
  • Confident working on various types of commercial vehicles, including tractor units and hooking up to trailers.
  • Current Driver CPC.
  • Attention to detail for completion of all paperwork.
  • Ability to carry out vehicle walk-around checks & note any/potential defects.
