Job summary

ThePerinatal Mental Health Team are excited to recruit a permanent, carecoordinator (nurse/social worker/OT) to work full time as part of themulti-disciplinary clinical team. 30Hours per week ( WTE).

Theteam is accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. It is a busy,secondary care mental health service that offers a range of evidence based andNICE concordant mental health interventions to the women of Worcestershireduring the perinatal period. The team is passionate, motivated andcollaborative and operates on a Recovery based person-centred ethos. Professional development is encouraged; thereare strong links with local and regional CPD and training networks, withregular trainees on specialist placements.

Thispost offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working in amulti-disciplinary team of highly-skilled and knowledgeable clinicians. The successful candidate will ideally be ableto demonstrate experience of working in a perinatal or mental health relatedfield, or alternatively will be able to demonstrate in interview, a thoroughunderstanding of the specific role a nurse/OT/social worker will fulfil in aperinatal service pathway.

Itis essential that applicants can meet the travel requirement for the post. Theservice operates from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work insupport of the close MDT within a community mental health team. Supervision andteaching of junior staff will be part of the role. As a team we encourage ongoing learning anddevelopment through reflection and clinical supervision which we try and embedin our daily practice. The post holder will be responsible for completingassessments, supporting with groups and working alongside all members of theMDT as well as patients, their families, carers and infants.

The Perinatal Mental Health Teamis a specialist community-based service focused on helping women at risk ofdeveloping, or experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties,during pregnancy and during the 2 years following childbirth or requirepre-conceptual counselling.

We want toensure that patients needs are met and families are supported. We work with anumber of partners, including GPs, Social Workers, Midwives and HealthVisitors, to ensure this is the case. Weoffer home visits, clinic appointments, virtual appointments and a wide rangeof groups to our antenatal and postnatal mums and partners.
