Job Description
Creates project plans and ensures budgeted targets and delivery schedule are maintained. Drive designs and ensures implementation of manufacturing processes for products to be manufactured. Partners with production and the manufacturing engineering group to manage project requirements. Determines the complexity of a quotation request and gives estimated times to completion. Serves as a liaison between Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Maintenance departments, etc., as well as outside suppliers and customers. Create metrics to show trends and identify areas for improvement. Ensure early focus on manufacturability in new product development. Drive rigor in process capability assessment, process layout, tooling, and equipment development and QMS design transfer execution. Creation of manufacturing documentation for use in production areas. Standardizes processes for manufacturing core products and redesigns processes to improve throughput and manufacturing costs. Manages Capital Expense projects and budget reviews.You are meant for this job if:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or MET Engineering preferred. 10 plus years of relevant experience in specialized area or product line(s) required. 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience required. Direct personnel management experience preferred. Strong analytical skills. Ability to understand technical requirements and drawings. Need strong skills in use and interpretation of GD&T Ability to use process capability (SPC) to determine how to improve the process Shown ability to effectively lead a team to execute a project Demonstrated ability to independently create and implement functional and cost effective processes that meet complex specification requirements. Demonstrated understanding of internal economic factors (cost, margins, profit impact of decisions) affecting assignment areas. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills are critical to interface with and motivate all levels of personnel. Must be proficient in use of Database systems related to Engineering functions and MRP. Strong skills in Project Management and planning primarily related to launch of new processes and new equipment Certifications such as Green Belt or Black Belt in Six Sigma, PMP, preferred.Skills
