SEN Teaching Assistant - Rochdale

Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of a primary school in the OL16 area looking to appoint additional staff for full-time and/ or part-times roles as SEN Teaching Assistants to help cover gaps in staffing.

To be successful you must be able to create a good rapport and have a strong commitment to supporting young people to learn on a flexible basis. You will be working with pupils with special educational needs in class and on a 1:1 basis with children who have autism. The ability to work both independently and within a team is essential.

Duties include:

  • Communicating work set by the class teacher to the pupils
  • Supervising completion of the work – encouraging engagement and involvement
  • Supporting children and tailoring your approach to their needs
  • Promoting positive pupil behaviour and conduct
  • Maintaining a positive environment within the classroom
  • Responding to questions and queries from pupils
  • Reporting any issues and/or concerns that arise

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
