We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Assistant Manager to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth.

Job Purpose:
The Logistics Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Logistics Manager in overseeing the smooth functioning of logistics team. This position involves managing various tasks ranging from team supervision and training to process optimisation and process management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Logistics Manager in overseeing the team's daily operations, including task delegation and performance monitoring, to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency. Provide training and support in onboarding and continuous training for new team members, to support a high level of skill and knowledge. Evaluate current processes to target inefficiencies and actively contribute to implementing solutions aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness and productivity. Facilitate seamless communication among departments and stores to swiftly address any arising issues and ensure smooth operations. Manage extranet accounts, promptly addressing internal and external enquiries. Ensuring the maintenance of crucial background data for promotions, setting up locational detail and then communicating these to the relevant teams.  Oversee the setup process for new stores, from initiating correspondence to gathering necessary information for merchandisers and logistics teams and maintaining collaborative tools like Google Docs. Review and upkeep key information on internal systems, such as exclusion lists and product attributes, to ensure accuracy and relevance. Use data retrieval tools to collect and share relevant data on stock levels, delivery performance, and order tracking. Analyse gathered data to assess departmental key performance indicators, including availability and inventory levels. Generate and manage reports to support the team in their daily functions, aiding in decision-making and performance evaluation. Analysing data and support stores with stock level queries.

Knowledge and Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft packages is essential – primarily Excel. SQL or similar programming language desirable. Degree in a business related subject desirable but not essential – Full training will be provided. Previous management experience is desirable but not essential. Previous experience in an analytical, data led role desirable. Ability to interpret data and act based on that interpretation. Good communication skills. Ability to manage workload. Can work well under pressure. Excellent attention to detail & problem-solving skills.

Position: Permanent, Full-time

Hours: Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:15
