This is a key role within the construction team. The assistant logistics manager oversees the 'real time' delivery of all logistic support functions to the project in a safe, compliant and timely manner.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Forward planning to ensure that all elements of logistical support are in place in good time to support the Project.
  • Monitoring compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Monitoring and reporting the performance of contractors engaged in the delivery of logistic support activities.
  • Providing accurate and timely Reports and Returns to the Logistics Manager.
  • Deputise for the Logistics Manager when required.
  • Attendance and participation in the Site Co-ordination meetings in order to anticipate and plan Logistic Support elements.
  • Management and monitoring the delivery of Logistic Support and Traffic Management by the respective contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Overseeing the control of delivery schedules and record-keeping.
  • Monitoring Waste Management protocols and record-keeping.
  • Supervisory management of Vehicles, Plant & Machinery (including fuel usage and reporting)
  • Supervisory management of mandatory registers and records. (Lifejackets, MHE etc).
  • Monitor EH / Sustainability reports and returns.
  • Building Manager – Site Offices & ANN Welfare.
  • Assist Logistics Manager with management and control of assets (Inventory & Musters).

You'll need to have:

  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills, including English Language.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and high level of accuracy (written reports, equipment musters, serial numbers etc).
  • Must be confident when directing contractors and sub-contractors in the performance of their roles.
  • Proficient in all common computer and IT applications (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • Awareness/familiarity with applicable regulatory standards: (CDM, H&SAW, Fire Safety, COSHH, DGPR etc).

You'll also have:

  • Experience at a similar level within a demanding and highly-regulated work environment .
  • Experience in a Logistic or Operational Support Role.
  • Experience within the Construction Industry.
  • Security Clearance (Min of BPSS; SC once in role).
  • CSCS Card (Demonstrating mandatory level of HSE awareness in a Construction Environment).
