Location: Greater Manchester - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Business Area: Kier Transportation, Rail

Contract: Full Time, Permanent – flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know

 

Responsibilities

As Assistant Planner, you'll be working within the Kier Transportation team and will be assisting in the planning and programming for large or complex rail infrastructure and associated buildings projects (over £20m). This may consist of a portfolio of smaller projects and may also involve managing planners who provide support with these schemes.

Your day to day will include:

  • Support the Planning team complete contract programme updates and associated narrative reports
  • Assist in developing the detailed construction programme with the operations team (project managers, agents, engineers, and foremen).
  • Assist the Planning team with look ahead programme meetings.
  • Work with nPlan to facilitate ongoing machine learning QSRAs against the programme 
  • Work with the commercial team to manage any contract change.

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant qualifications – degree level, or equivalent experience
  • You'll be comfortable with the Microsoft Office suite, and have robust and efficient documentation and record keeping.
  • Excellent communication and management skills
