Assistant Planner

We're looking for an Assistant Planner to join our Kier Rail team and assist on several rail related projects across the Greater Manchester area.

**Location**: Greater Manchester - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

**Business Area**: Kier Transportation, Rail

**Contract**: Full Time, Permanent - flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know

**Responsibilities**

As Assistant Planner, you'll be working within the Kier Transportation team and will be assisting in the planning and programming for large or complex rail infrastructure and associated buildings projects (over £20m). This may consist of a portfolio of smaller projects and may also involve managing planners who provide support with these schemes.

Your day to day will include:

- Support the Planning team complete contract programme updates and associated narrative reports
- Assist in developing the detailed construction programme with the operations team (project managers, agents, engineers, and foremen).
- Assist the Planning team with look ahead programme meetings.
- Work with nPlan to facilitate ongoing machine learning QSRAs against the programme
- Work with the commercial team to manage any contract change.

**What are we looking for?**
- Relevant qualifications - degree level, or equivalent experience
- You'll be comfortable with the Microsoft Office suite, and have robust and efficient documentation and record keeping.
- Excellent communication and management skills
