We are seeking a dynamic individual to provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to people with a learning disability for the post of permanent 0.8 WTE Consultant Clinical Psychologist within Specialist Services, Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership. The successful candidate will have responsibilities for the provision and development of complex care / forensic learning disability clinical psychology services across Grampian, including in-reach to HMP/YOI Grampian.

The role includes clinical work as well as leadership, supervision and consultative work. Significant post qualification experience of working within learning disability forensic services collaboratively with other professional groups and partner agencies is essential. Experience of leadership and strategic planning will be advantages.

There are 5 other qualified staff working across Grampian within the community learning disability teams. There are close links with the D Clin Psych/ Edinburgh University and the service routinely provides core and specialist placements for trainees completing this course. The service actively supports practitioners’ clinical and research interests and there is a regular programme of CPD and opportunities for group and individual supervision.

Aberdeen is situated in the North East of Scotland with an easily accessible airport just 15 minutes from the city centre so staying connected to the whole of the UK and beyond is not a problem, eg fly to London in just over an hour at reasonable prices. Grampian is an area of outstanding natural beauty with a stunning coastline populated by dolphins. For those with family, Aberdeen boasts some of the best schools in Scotland whilst the vibrant local economy provides a range of job opportunities for partners. The area also offers a chance to pursue a wide range of outdoor activities and sports.

The interview will be conducted remotely and an attractive relocation allowance of up to £8000 is available to successful candidates.

Interviews will be held remotely via MS Teams in October 2024
