Running 'Buddy' Volunteer
Location: Maidstone
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week
Do you enjoy running and have a couple of hours spare during the week? We are looking for someone who enjoys running to accompany a person we support for a run each week. One of the people we support at our service in Maidstone loves to run but needs someone to help motivate and guide them.
Skills required To enjoy exercising To be kind, empathetic and patient To be punctual and reliable To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures To be able to assist when necessary with sighted guide/orientation Please note that you will need to be over the age of 18 in order to apply for this role. Upon receipt of your application, a member of our friendly Volunteering Team will contact you for an informal chat and to explain about the next steps. To ensure the safety of the people we support, we require a DBS check and two satisfactory references before a volunteer role is confirmed. As you will be volunteering directly with vulnerable individuals, you will also be required to undertake safeguarding training, as well as any training which is specific to the role.
