About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Running Buddy Volunteer. As a Running Buddy, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the life of someone who loves to run but requires support and motivation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accompany a person we support on a weekly run, providing motivation and guidance as needed.
  • Develop a supportive and empathetic relationship with the person we support, promoting their independence and confidence.
  • Ensure the person we support's safety and well-being during the run, adhering to our organization's policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the person we support, their family, and our team to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge as a Running Buddy.
Requirements
  • Enjoy exercising and running.
  • Be kind, empathetic, and patient, with a strong ability to build relationships.
  • Be punctual and reliable, with a commitment to attending regular runs.
  • Be able to deal with confidential information in line with our data protection procedures.
  • Be able to assist with sighted guide/orientation as needed.
