Vetro Education are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Cover Supervisor to work in a secondary school in the Cardiff Local Education Authority.

The ideal Cover Supervisor will have strong behaviour management experience and an understanding of a variety of subjects taught at Secondary level. The school supports learners in Key Stage 3 and 4 and the school has tasked Vetro to find a Cover Supervisor, who can hit the ground running and become a part of the school's roster from day one.

The role itself is for 5 days per week, supporting Year 7, 8 and 9, as well as GCSE classes. This role is set to start in September 2024, and set to run until the end of the Easter term in first instance.

Overview:

  • Title: Cover Supervisor
  • Pay: £100.00 per day minimum
  • Location: Cardiff
  • Hours: Full time, Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a Cover Supervisor

  • Lead a classroom of learners - Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Preparing the classroom for lessons and deliver a variety of work prepared by the absent class teacher
  • Maintain classroom control
  • Engage learners with both classroom and lab-based activities
  • Be flexible, think on your feet and show an enthusiasm for a variety of subjects
  • Work in accordance to the school's behaviour management policies



The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a Cover Supervisor

  • At least 3 months experience working with children
  • Ideally be educated to a degree level
  • Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
