We are looking for for a highly motivated individual to provide comprehensive clerical support to the Orthopaedic Trauma Department using a high level of initiative and discretion.Excellent communication skills are required as the post-holders will be required to liaise directly with patients, consultants and other hospital/external colleagues on the telephone, face to face and in writing.
This role requires a willingness to work as part of a team as well as the ability to work unsupervised. The successful applicant will have the ability to work under pressure, pay attention to detail and have excellent organisational skills.

Main duties of the job
Responding to external and internal telephone queries from staff, patients and others, bothinternal and external, and referring to appropriate person. Communicate with patients over the telephone, arranging appointments as necessary Typing correspondence to patients and GP Practices Clinic Letters. Data Entry onto national databases and management of this database, which includes a trauma database. E-mail clinical correspondence to multi-disciplinary staff/teams as required. To priortise own workload appropriately referring any service concerns to the Team Leader in a timely manner. Distribution of the departmental post, scanning of documents. Checking of stationery stock and ordering within guidelines from the manager, using e Procurement when necessary. Responsibility for checking goods and cross-checking between delivery note and purchase order upon delivery of goods.

The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.The Trust employs over 6258 staff (headcount) which includes temporary bank staff and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000. This includes 357,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire which has a population of approximately 50,000.
The Trust is a busy district general hospital and in 2022/2023, there were more than 503,342 patient attendances (inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
