Are you an inspiring and dedicated English teacher with a passion for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Our agency is seeking a talented SEN English Teacher to join an Ofsted-rated Outstanding school specializing in ASD education. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in a supportive and exceptional educational environment.

Upon a successful probationary period of 20 working weeks, the school woudl take applicants on permanently. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons tailored to the needs of students with ASD.
  • Create a nurturing and structured classroom environment that supports the learning and emotional well-being of students.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and parents, to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their confidence, communication, and social skills.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching English.
  • Specialisation or significant experience in SEN education, particularly with students with ASD.
  • Strong understanding of ASD and effective teaching strategies for students with autism.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
