We are looking to expand our conservation team to help us deliver a series of exciting projects that help to support healthy habitats, wildlife, and ecosystems. You could be a part of our dedicated team proactively working to secure nature’s recovery in Staffordshire.

About You.

  You will have a minimum of 3 years working within the conservation sector within a role which includes responsibility for planning issues.  Having a relevant degree level qualification or equivalent in an environmental field you will be experienced in submitting high quality technical written comments in response to planning applications in support of wildlife gain.

You should have a good knowledge of nature conservation principles, practice and species and habitat legislation, particularly relating to protected species.

About the Role.

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to help us to protect and enhance biodiversity in Staffordshire through the planning system, engaging in forward planning, development control, and national issues where required. Focusing on Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), important sites, habitats and species, but also inputting to local issues.

The Trust owns or manages 43 nature reserves covering an area of over 1947 hectares. Our 130 staff are based in six locations around the county including our Headquarters at Wolseley Bridge, Stafford, with our work divided up into five departments: Resources, People Engagement, Conservation Delivery, Fundraising, Communication and Membership & Commercial. The Trust has a diverse workforce of including site wardens, wildlife surveyors, community and education officers, catering, retail and administration.
