We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Pharmacy Technician to join our team as the Specialist Pharmacy Technician for Medicines Value. This is a new and exciting opportunity and will be key in supporting the Trusts Medicine Optimisation agenda and delivery of the Cost Improvement Programme.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Chief Pharmacy Technician- Medicines Supply and the Associate Director of Pharmacy- Medicines Optimisation to co-ordinate medicines value workstreams and help drive forward locally identified priorities.
You must have significant post qualification experience, be assertive and have a passion for best value medicines procurement and cost saving.You must possess excellent IT and data analysis skills. It is essential that you can work accurately and quickly under pressure and be able to prioritise your workload.You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to use your own initiative to provide innovative solutions, and a professional, enthusiastic attitude to drive improvement.Main duties of the job
To co-ordinate, develop and maintain the medicines value activities across the trust in line with local, system, regional and national priorities.
To be responsible for the line management and supervision of technical and administrative staff as allocated including managing the recruitment process, performance management, appraisal and absence management.
Responsible for the day-to-day technical duties relating to medicines value activities including; data analysis and reporting through all relevant software systems eg Define, contract compliance, biosimilar switches, horizon scanning, financial forecasting and waste minimisation projects.
Assist in the set-up of all new medicines savings schemes, attending set-up meetings and working closely with relevant staff within the Trust. Verifies that all medicines savings schemes are approved by the trust Drug and Therapeutics Committee or national or local commissioning arrangements.
