Job summary

Park View Group Practice is a large and innovative Practice.

We have 7 GP Partners, supported by a large nursing team, pharmacy team, and non-clinical team to provide the best care possible for over 10000 patients.

We are also a member of Tame Valley Primary Care Network, and the Practice is supported by care co-ordinators and health coaches.

working hours across Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am to 8pm.

These hours include a 20 minuteu paid lunch/break.

Main duties of the job

Tobe responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and theprovision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greetingand directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, bookingappointments, processing of information, and assisting patients asrequired. To act as the central point ofcontact for patients, the distribution of information, messages, and enquiriesfor the clinical team liaising with multidisciplinary team members andexternal agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

The post holder will also be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrativeduties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinaryteam. Duties can include but are not limited to, the processing of information(electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinaryteam members and external agencies such as secondary care and community serviceproviders and in accordance with current policies, including the use of theelectronic referral service (ERS).

Park View Group Practice is based in Reddish, Stockport and our Practice boundary covers Stockport, Denton, and Tameside.

We believe that every staff member should be supported in their career pathways. We currently have seven staff members undertaking apprenticeships or are due to commence apprenticeships. We also train F2 and ST1 doctors.

Job responsibilities

Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:

a. Maintainingand monitoring the practice appointment system

b. Processpersonal, telephone, and e-requests for appointments

c. Answerincoming phone calls, transfer calls or deal with the caller's requestappropriately

d. Signpostpatients to the correct service

e. Initiatingcontact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members, andexternal agencies

f. Readcode data on EMIS Web

g. Photocopydocumentation as required

h. Dataentry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information asrequired

i. Inputdata into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary

j. Directrequests for information SAR, insurance/solicitors letters, and DVLAforms to the administrative team

k. Manageall queries as necessary in an efficient manner

l. Carryout system searches as requested

m. Maintaina clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

n. Monitorand maintain the reception area and notice boards

o. Supportall clinical staff with general tasks as requested

p. Process referrals to external agencies such as secondary care

q. Action GP2GP tasks
