About the role
We are seeking to appoint a creative, proactive and highly motivated application specialist on spatial genomics, with the goal of bringing spatial technologies into translation. The role will be jointly held within the Wolfson Institute of Biomedical Research (WIBR) Bloomsbury Campus and the UCL Spatial Biology Hub (SBH) located at the Institute for Liver and Digestive health (ILDH), Royal Free Campus. The position offers a highly motivating environment using cutting-edge technologies. These include state of the art molecular binding techniques using grating coupled interferometry (CreoptixWAVE instrument) at the WIBR, which offers a UCL wide service. Confocal microscopy and other techniques will also be maintained. The UCL SBH serves all of UCL and collaborates with internal and external users from many disciplines offering access to advanced technologies and extensive expertise in the design and application of cutting-edge spatial biology and genomics methods. This role will be integrated into ILDH and UCL Genomics, the collaborative genomics core facility at UCL, and provide support to researchers using spatial biology approaches to investigate a broad spectrum of human diseases from diagnosis, prognosis and treatment to advance digital pathology. Ultimately, we aim to translate spatial advances into the NHS and use the information these tools provide to individualise patient treatment. Towards this end, the post holder will work closely with specialists at UCL Genomics and the Spatial Biology Hub at the Royal Free Campus. The post is fully funded for a year, with the aim of consolidating this position in our successful cost recovery model afterwards.A job description and person specification can be accessed at the bottom of this page.If you need reasonable adjustments or a more accessible format to apply for this job online or have any queries about the application process, please contact Mohini Badiani ()
