Team head – Trading software development

Your team
The securities trading team is a dynamic team of software engineers and business analysts spread across several development centres. We follow an agile process, working closely with the Product Owner and related teams to develop product features and provide support to our extensive global customer base.
We work with customers and partners to develop and deliver innovative solutions to meet market demands. The team is part of many exciting and challenging projects relating to cutting-edge Swiss, European and Asian banking initiatives. We are the experts in Avaloq for securities trading, exchange traded derivatives trading, mutual and hedge fund trading and transaction reporting business.
You will:
- Be the line manager for the securities trading team
- Report to the domain head for investment transactions
- Work closely together with the product Owner for securities trading
- Facilitate team meetings to meet the requirements of the customer and the Avaloq organization.
- Ensure that the team can perform in our agile setup and remove impediments.
- Hire new colleagues and/or integrate external resources if necessary.
- Participate in the design of business solutions in PL/SQL, Avaloq Script and/or Java (deployed on Openshift or Kubernetes).
- Participate and lead client and prospects workshops explaining Avaloq features and understanding client needs.
- Participate in implementation workshops.
- Actively manage client relationship by communicating regularly and providing business consulting services to Avaloq customers
- Prepare reports and project documents concerning new client requirements, ongoing activities, and project status.
- Analyse business requirements and evaluate possible scenarios and recommend best business and IT solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong proven track record of the full development life cycle over the technical components/modules of core banking system (ideally Avaloq) implementations.
- Experience in the financial industry, ideally in securities trading or transaction reporting business.
- Experience as a line manager and in managing third party supplier and/or external providers.
- Fantastic analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
- Excellent client-orientation and strong communication skills both verbally and in writing with a service-oriented attitude
- Passion for learning and always improving yourself.
It would be a bonus if you have:
- Experience within securities trading, securities trading interfaces (FIX, Swift), Transactional Reporting (Mifid, EMIR...)
- Existing Avaloq knowhow
- Experience on Java applications on Openshift or Kubernetes
- Knowledge and experience in PL/SQL
- University degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematics or equivalent
- German or French language skills
