Overview
We are looking to recruit an Accounts Controller to join our Latin American and Caribbean team in our Ipswich office As an Accounts Controller you will service a portfolio of Client accounts within the Latin American and Caribbean team of Gallagher Re. As part of this role you will also ensure that balances are collected and paid in accordance with the contractual requirements. We are interested in hearing from experienced candidates with insurance / reinsurance knowledge or those outside of the industry who have worked within accounting / finance. How you'll make an impact On a daily basis you’ll be working with people on a global scale. Speaking with Gallagher employees across London, Miami and Mumbai, as well as in Latin America and the Caribbean. You’ll make sure that that our client’s money is handled securely, efficiently and in a fully auditable way. You’ll be responsible for the fiscal relationship of your portfolio and you’ll be the main contact when it comes to all matters relating to payments. You’ll actively service your accounts to a high standard, making sure that monies due to and due from clients are handled in a timely fashion, enabling us to meet our financial objectives. You’ll also make sure that everything meets our policies and controls, that means: Use MI to identify debtor related problems and raise, negotiate and influence where necessary to resolve Review and correlate cash daily Adhere to standardised Group policies and procedures, Accounting and Settlement fundamentals, including sanctions touch points and other regulatory requirements About you Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent CII qualifications or studying towards would be beneficial Reinsurance or Credit Control experience is highly desirable Spanish language skills would be an advantage but not essential Intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Office) Good communication skills (Written and Verbal) Excellent attention to detail, ability to organise and prioritise Ability to work in a team and autonomously; and general willingness to learn and grow Confident in building strong working relationships with both clients and brokers Good time management skills Eligible to work in the UK Compensation and benefits On top of a competitive salary, great teams and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
