**MacKenzie King** are currently recruiting an **Accounting Controller, on a 1 year FTC,** for a global financial services business based in Ipswich. Reporting into the Head of Central Accounting Services, as an **Accounting Controller**, you will have a strong emphasis on timely service, professionalism, efficiency and productivity to ensure the local Finance teams receive reliable and accurate information for reporting.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all technical and non-technical payments, and all general ledger entries are processed accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure technical results and broker ledger balances between underwriting, actuarial and general ledger systems are reconciled on a quarterly basis
- Maintain the general ledger ensuring that data is loaded accurately and that the appropriate monthly controls are adhered to
- Ensure that a high-quality service is delivered to internal clients in terms of: timely delivery, accuracy of data, responsiveness to queries, reconciliations made
- Improve and optimise the accounts production process and the quality of reports produced
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key business contacts
- Liaise with external auditors to manage the year end audit process where necessary
- Manage ad hoc finance projects as required

**Key Skills & Attributes**:

- Part-Qualified/Qualified Accountant or equivalent level of competence with 5+ years’ experience in financial reporting/management accounting environment
- Sound knowledge of IFRS accounting
- Proven track record of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with effectively with colleagues across cultures
- Ability to take ownership of the role and to take initiatives
- Ability to adopt a flexible and proactive approach
- Ability to work independently and to work as a team player
- Ability to work under pressure and operate within a tight deadline environment
