The ProteinProduction Group provides support for all NBE & NCEprojects from early stage target validation through to thoseundergoing preclinical evaluation by generating recombinant proteinreagents for immunization structural studies assays and compoundscreening. All reagents produced undergo biophysical analysis inorder to enhance our understanding of their stability andsolubility. You will be part of the Protein Production Groupplaying a key role in project success by generating high qualityprotein reagents in a timely manner. You will also assist withantibodydiscovery.
Thesuccessful candidate will have the opportunity to rapidly impact ona wide range of our NBE & NCE projects and to significantlycontribute to the progression of these projects into the clinic andbeyond.
Primaryresponsibilities
You will be responsible for expressing and purifying highqualityrecombinant protein reagents to support the novel worldleadingantibody and NCE drug discovery platforms for a variety of excitingtherapeuticprojects.
You will have an excellent and proven track record of proteinreagentdelivery.
You will use your excellent practical skills communication and teamworking abilities to drive innovative projects forward from thelaboratory.
You will be responsible for clearly presenting work and engaging indiscussion in a variety of crossfunctional and externalcollaboratormeetings.

RequirementsEssentialexperience
Candidateswill have extensive experience (PhD holder or graduate with 45years) in protein biochemistry focusing on recombinant proteinproduction preferably in an industrialenvironment
Weare looking for candidates who are fully independent and competentin the following skillsets:
Molecular Biology (DNA manipulation techniques and comprehensiveknowledge and experience with software used in manipulating proteinand DNA sequences (VNTI) and molecular visualisation of proteins(PyMOL orsimilar).
Proficient in E.coli insect and mammalian cell expression systems(and experience in 15N 13C and 2H labelled expression inE.coli)
Fully independent in protein purification techniques (affinity ionexchange hydrophobic interaction chromatography size exclusionchromatography analytical SEC UVVis spectroscopy and proteinrefolding techniques) and extensive experience working with AKTApurification platforms and associatedsoftware.
Fully competent in protein characterisation techniques: SDSPAGEWestern blot analytical SEC UVVis spectroscopy andUPLC.
Excellent biochemistry knowledge with hands on experience ofprotein labelling andcharacterisation.
Goodunderstanding of recombinant protein expression systems and themolecular biology involved in generating expressionconstructs.
Thorough knowledge of the latest technologies involved in proteinpurification.
Track record of recombinant protein production covering multipleprotein classes including enzymes structural proteins cellsignalling factors cell surface receptors and their ligandsproduced as intracellular and secretedproteins.
Ability to work on several projects and conduct experiments inparallel.
Excellent written and verbal communicationskills
Excellent timemanagement
Proficiency in the use of MicrosoftOffice.
A highly motivated individual with a proven ability to deliver totighttimelines.
A good team player with strong organisational communication recordkeeping and interpersonalskills.
A scientist with an inquisitive and innovative nature and a passionfor delivering innovative new medicines for patients suffering withseriousdisease.

EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years of experience of working in a globalenvironment in a similar position. Relevant experience inthird-party risk management or operational risk management ispreferred. Experience in supporting compliance related processes.Auditing and/or business process re-engineering experience, withstrong internal control focus would be an advantage. Experience inworking with ticketing tool (e.g. Onetrust) is preferred. LANGUAGESFrench language capabilities and excellent spoken and writtenEnglish. EDUCATION: University/Advanced degree isrequired.
