Protocol Education are looking to recruit a learning support assistant/teaching assistant to join a specialist school in Cambridge. This is a temp-perm position starting September.

The school caters for children and young people aged 3 to 19 who have a range of complex and significant learning needs in the area of cognition and learning (with other co-occurring conditions). This covers a wide range of needs including learners with autistic spectrum condition and those with complex physical and sensory impairments. All pupils are provided with an exciting, balanced education which will be appropriately paced and designed to meet their individual education needs.

 

A desire to assist in this area is required, but no experience is necessary

The role:

  • Supervise pupils with SEND, ensuring their safety and ability to access learning activities and understand the information presented
  • Aid the execution of education plans suitable to each pupils’ learning objectives.
  • Build a trusting relationship with all pupils and communicate according to their understanding.
  • Promote class interaction and ensure pupils engage throughout the lessons.
  • Create an interesting environment for students.
  • Assist pupils with practical activities using a variety of teaching aids.
  • Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare.

This is a long-term, full-time position so we are looking for candidates to be available 5 days a week between the hours of 8:30am-15:30pm. Please only apply if you can accommodate this.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
