Location: Office based in Pontefract with regular travel (Yorkshire & North East)
Grade: 3
Salary: £39,599 per annum
Job type: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours)
About the Role:
- Lead and manage a team of social work assistants, ensuring the effective delivery of services to clients.
- Manage a caseload, conducting assessments and providing interventions such as welfare benefits advice, advocacy, and emotional support.
- Drive service performance, monitoring efficiency, and implementing improvements.
- Provide expert supervision and support to your team members, fostering a learning and development culture.
- Act as the safeguarding lead for the region, ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with other professionals and partner agencies.
- Promote the service locally and contribute to the development of new service approaches.
- Represent the organisation at events and contribute to publicising our services.
What you will bring:
- A social work degree and current professional registration.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team in a social care setting.
- Experience of community-based social care with older people and/or disability services.
- Strong understanding of the welfare benefits system and relevant legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-centered approach.
- Self-motivated with exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Valid driving license and access to a vehicle (travel required).
