Job summary
We are looking to recruit a band 5 staff nurse into our busy area of plastic surgery.
Our plastic surgery unit is a nurse led day unit with fast pace of elective and emergency trauma patients. We see approximately 50 patients a day for pre and post operative care for day case theatre, and wide variety of dressing appointments. These are particularly for trauma, breast, hand, skin cancer and head and neck wounds. We also populate trauma lists and treat patients directly from ED upon referral.
The speciality is varied and exciting which despite autonomy of being nurse led, has full support of medical staff to review patients.
You must demonstrate delivery of high standards of care and knowledge within the speciality. We are looking for a self motivated individual, who has ideally surgical wound care knowledge with an understanding of out- patients or willingness to learn.
In return we can offer an opportunity to learn and develop skills within a varied and exciting speciality. You would be well supported within a well established team.
We have a post available for a 1 year secondment/fixed term contract full time.
The day unit is operational Monday to Friday 7:15-19:00

To provide a high standard of safe individualised, holistic and evidence-based patient focused care in consultation with the patient, their relatives and the multidisciplinary team
