Job summary

The role of MS Nurse Specialist is to deliver a high quality, specialist service to adult patients from the age of 18 with established MS and those undergoing diagnosis, acting as a source of advice and information for patients, carers, and health professionals and work in collaboration with other members of an established MS team to improve MS care for the local population.

The overriding purpose of the post is to support the provision of highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an advocate for patients, carers and their families, promoting patient focused care and act as a resource for the multi-agency team. It is anticipated that this will improve on patient experience, prevent unnecessary ED attendances, hospital admissions and decrease length of stay.
