We’re looking for a Financial Control Product Accountant to join our Insurance Money and Services team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the integrity of product financial information used in reporting for our insurance business. This is a great opportunity to join our Financial Control team during a period of organisational change enabling the successful applicant to play a role in shaping the future Financial Control function within the organisation.

You will work with a variety of stakeholders from across a range of business disciplines Commercial Finance / Tesco Underwriting) to ensure the preparation of complete and accurate financial reporting which is compliant with relevant accounting standards.

Using your effective communication skills, you’ll ensure your stakeholders are professionally managed, actions and issues are promptly resolved, governance adhered to, and relevant opportunities for enhancement of current processes are being discussed and driven forward.

What you’ll be doing

Work within established systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated area of financial control. Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring to others where necessary for interpretation of policy. Collate and analyse data using pre-set tools, methods and formats. Involves working independently. Contribute to the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice. Keep track of risk parameters, identifying any more deviations and reporting them to more senior colleagues. Involves working within established risk management systems.

We need you to have

Qualified Accountant.  Proven MS Excel skills to create relevant and effective reports using various data sources, analysing data trends to help guide decision making. Confidence with making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. Workflow Management: Works with full competence to orient work in a workflow to plan, organize, and execute the steps it takes to achieve a goal to achieve higher efficiencies. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance. Presentation skills: Communicates with other people without requiring supervision and provides technical guidance when required on speaking in a clear, concise and compelling manner

Experience of technical accounting standards relevant to the current IMS business (IFRS and IFRS ). Demonstrating Advanced Excel skills. Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
